Q: My name Is Edward and I just started playing golf in May '98. I shoot
in the Mid to low 90's. I have even scored 88 once. How am I doing and
what is the best area of my game to concentrate on first? My biggest problem
is an "outside-in" swing path and my alignment.
- Thanks, Ed Wanambwa
A: I think that it is great that you are able
to play so well in such a short time. Keep up the good work. I feel that you
will get the fastest results if you work hard on your short game. Practice
putting as much as you can. Also, don't forget to work on your chipping and
pitching game, this is where you will save a tremendous amount of strokes.
If you are having trouble with your swing path and alignment, I would recommend
having someone stand behind you and give you feedback until until you can
feel the correct alignment and path. This is very important; for if the golf
ball is to start on the right path, your swing and alignment must be good.
